Richard Thompson: Camp Director and Instructor
Rich has been teaching third grade for over twenty years in the Capital Region. He works with students in the Math Olympiad program in his school district and also runs the Lego Robotics program in his building. He has also been a Summer STEM Camp director for over five years. Rich graduated from the University at Plattsburgh with a degree in Elementary Education. He received his Master's Degree as an Educational Technology Specialist from the College of Saint Rose. He is recognized for his ability to teach a culturally diverse student population, while developing individualized plans for students at different learning levels. He has a proven ability to improve literacy, math and science levels through innovative activities and lesson plans. Rich also received Teacher of the Year 2006.
Rachel O'Connor: Instructor
Rachel is an elementary Special Education Teacher in the Capital Region. She has worked in a variety of grade levels over the years. Rachel graduated from the College of Saint Rose with a degree in Elementary Education. She received her dual Master's Degree in Special Education and Literacy. She takes an interest in math and science. She enjoys doing science experiments with her students.
Megin Guzior: Instructor
Megin is a second grade teacher in the Capital Region. She has also taught at various grades throughout her career. She continuously looks for ways for all students to be engaged and successful in their learning. Megin graduated from SUNY Cortland with her Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education and then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Literacy from SUNY Albany.
